Sara was first introduced to physical therapy as a young soccer player in California. Going through many sports injuries herself, Sara learned a lot about the field and decided to pursue her degree. Sara attended Boston University ‘s Sargent College entry level Master’s program. Here she graduated with her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy in 2004. She practiced for a few years, and later earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy through Boston University in 2007. Since finishing physical therapy school, Sara has also continued her education and has received certificates in personal training, nutrition, and ergonomic assessment. Sara has a special interest in treating novice athletes, runners, and combining her nutrition knowledge with the healing process. When Sara is not at work, she enjoys skiing and snowboarding in Vermont, and cooking healthy meals for her friends and family.

Asra is a NY state board certified Physical Therapist and an Orthopedic Certified Specialist by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. She has 18 years of experience and has focused on manual therapy techniques, functional training and sports rehabilitation through post-graduate and continued education. Most of her courses were given by Gray Institute, TRIARQ, HSS, the Graston Technique ® and BMC Sports Medicine Symposiums. Asra serves as our Midtown/44th ST Clinic Director. She is also the Clinic Coordinator of Clinical Education for DPT Graduate Programs for Northeastern University, LIU, Touro University and Boston University. She loves to snowboard and spends the winter weekends in Vermont.

Gregory Hullstrung, PT, FAFS, Physical Therapist Partner firstname.lastname@example.org Greg is the co-owner of H&D Physical Therapy with over 20 years of clinical experience. He has served as a lecturer in the New York Physical Therapy Assistant Program and as an adjunct Clinical Instructor at the New York University Physical Therapy Program. From 2002-2004, Greg also served as Chair of the New York Chapter of APTA. Greg was credentialed in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy by the McKenzie Institute in 2000 and became a Fellow of Applied Functional Science (FAFS) with the Gray Institute in 2008. Greg also is a founding board member of the Triarq community which unites physicians, surgeons, therapists, and other health specialists. In his spare time, Greg likes hanging out with his family and watching his son play football.
Justin attended Boston University’s five-year program where he received his Bachelor of Science in Health Studies in 2002 and his Master of Science in Physical Therapy in 2004. Since then, Justin has held positions at the North Shore Long Island Jewish Health System. There he worked in both the inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation departments, including the brain injury rehabilitation program. Justin also presumed the role of Chief of Rehabilitation Services at the Raymond Naftali Ambulatory Center for Rehabilitation. Justin then joined H&D in 2012 and currently runs our Physical Therapy Balance and Vestibular Rehabilitation Program. Since completing school, Justin has completed continuing education in the areas of vestibular rehabilitation, cervicogenic dizziness, and neurological rehabilitation. Justin is also certified in Vestibular and Balance Rehabilitation from both Emory University and the American Physical Therapy Association. He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association's Neurology section and is dedicated to helping those with neurological conditions and mobility impairments enhance functional abilities, reduce the risk for falling, and improve quality of life. Justin currently works at our midtown location.
Thomas (Tom) Grunewald spent 20 years performing in nationally and internationally touring modern dance companies, performing at venues such as BAM and City Center. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 1994 from Eastern Washington University in Spokane graduating magna cum laude, and moved to New York City to practice, starting at Beth Israel Hospital NY rotating through the different PT disciplines, finally with their Spine Institute. He continued his study of movement with tai chi and founded Beth Israel Medical Center’s tai chi program for seniors and others that is continued today at Society for Nanlaoshu and for H & D’s wellness program. He believes that patients who undertake a course of physical therapy are essentially taking a course in movement awareness and in life. Tom has walked the walk by taking a spectrum of continuing education, in topics as diverse as osteopathy, manual therapy, motor learning, lumbar and pelvic stabilization and tai chi. Tom practices out of our 3 rd Avenue and 44 th St. location.
Kathleen began her career at Manhattan College, where she went for her undergraduate degree in education. Kathleen then attended New York University where she earned a bachelor's degree in physical therapy. Before coming to H&D, Kathleen worked at Rusk Institute for several years while working part time in the evenings in a Sports Rehab setting. Kathleen decided early on to pursue a career in physical therapy after being sidelined with chronic injuries as a result of playing several sports, including basketball, volleyball, softball and swimming. Kathleen is still an athlete and enjoys running, swimming and skiing. She and her husband are raising two sons, who also enjoy swimming and games that seem to require a lot of running.
Livia worked as support staff in patient care at various Physical Therapy clinics from 2005-2008 before deciding to pursue a career as a Physical Therapist. She graduated from Long Island University in 2011 with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. She has since been primarily treating orthopedics and sports injuries. Outside of work Livia enjoys running, basketball, volleyball, yoga, and any opportunity to participate in water sports (surfing and paddle boarding).
Mary earned her MA degree in Pathokinesiology at New York University where her thesis was awarded the Robert S. Salant award for outstanding research and her B.S. in Physical Therapy at Cleveland University. Mary was an Assistant Professor at Long Island University’s Physical Therapy Program as well as the Director of their Advanced Graduate Musculoskeletal program. Mary has been a consultant for staff development for Lenox Hill Hospital’s PT Department and an Adjunct Professor at NYU and Ithaca College. She has over 25 years of clinical expertise and her special areas of interest include treatment of spinal, foot/ankle and shoulder pathologies with emphasis on full return to function.

Robert is a NYS licensed Physical Therapist. He graduated from Daemen College in 2012 with a Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree. Robert has experience treating a wide range of general Orthopaedic injuries/conditions and Post-Operative Musculoskeletal surgeries including but not limited to the following: low back, shoulders, neck, knees, and hips. Continuing Education/Courses Robert has participated in include: Kevin Wilk's Recent Advances in the Evaluation and Treatment of the Shoulder Complex, Maitland Spinal Seminar (MT-2), Selective Functional Movement Assessment (Level 1). Additionally, Robert holds a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certification from 2009-Present. Outside of Work, Robert enjoys staying active by going to the gym, hiking, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and billiards.

Previously a professional dancer, Dr Lusk understands first-hand the impact of injuries on athletic performance and emotional well-being. He has a deep passion to help his patients achieve their highest goals, whether it is returning to the gym, getting back on the bike, finishing a marathon or simply walking a mile without pain. It is this drive that guides every bit of continuing education, in order to bring the most cutting edge and effective treatments to the patient. An avid urban athlete himself, Dr. Lusk graduated from Hunter College with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. He is a Certified Functional Manual Therapist (Honors), a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist, certified in the FMS and SFMA screening tools, and a certified Rock Doc practitioner. He has also worked as a physical therapist on over 70 Broadway shows.
