Katie grew up in Upper Saddle River, NJ with her parents, two older brothers, and twin sister Erin. She completed her undergraduate studies at Colgate University, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a degree in biology, and went on to earn her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Delaware. Katie spent the majority of her youth playing competitive sports, including soccer, volleyball, basketball, and softball. She captained the varsity softball and volleyball teams in high school at Northern Highlands and played club volleyball at Colgate University. While earning her doctorate at Delaware, Katie participated in nearly every intramural sport, winning championships in softball, flag football, volleyball, and soccer. Katie developed an interest in physical therapy after experiencing multiple sports-related injuries while growing up. In rehabbing her own sports injuries, she got to see how invaluable it was to have a physical therapist who was invested in her recovery and cared about getting her back to her active lifestyle as quickly and as safely as possible. Since becoming a physical therapist, she has experienced first-hand how rewarding and fulfilling this career can be and couldn’t be happier with her decision to pursue it. Katie has a particular interest in treating sports-related injuries in patients of all ages due to her own personal experiences in the past. She has also developed an interest in treating the low back and is pursuing further specialization through continuing education classes and specialty certification. Katie loves the continuous learning aspect of the physical therapy profession and is always seeking out the latest research for new techniques and treatment ideas to help improve her patients’ outcomes and recoveries. In her free time, Katie enjoys playing competitive volleyball, softball, and soccer all around North Jersey. She also enjoys playing bar trivia and has been using it as practice to one day pass the Jeopardy online exam. Katie has recently developed an interest in recreational running and is currently training for a half marathon in the spring. She enjoys watching reality TV, The Food Network, Jeopardy, and pretty much any Netflix original series. Katie is an avid Yankees fan and loves attending games with her twin sister and her dad.

Growing up in Mahwah, Joe spent the majority of his childhood outdoors with his friends and neighbors, either playing sports, inventing fun new games, or exploring the area. Because he always liked to be active, Joe has played most sports growing up in one form or another, unfortunately leading to frequent injuries. While playing football with friends one day during his senior year in high school, Joe suffered his first major injury, tearing his ACL in his knee, which required surgery and 7 months in rehab. Joe performed his rehab at EXCEL in Oakland and immediately became enamored with the profession. What drew him to physical therapy the most was both the combination of understanding the complexities of human anatomy and the healing process, but also his therapist’s ability to help with the emotional aspect of a major surgery. Joe went on to college at Marist in Poughkeepsie, NY, pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science with a minor in Psychology. During his summer’s home, he worked as an aide at EXCEL to further understand the intricacies of working in an outpatient physical therapy environment. Joe had another knee surgery, this time much less serious, but again attended PT at EXCEL in Oakland for 6 weeks. He had a much greater understanding of the rehab process the second time around, so it further pushed him towards the profession. After graduation, Joe continued his education at Widener University, receiving a doctorate degree in physical therapy while obtaining a certification in special education. Joe enjoys working with all different types of injuries with patients of all age ranges, but admits that he will always have a soft spot for a teenager who attends PT after a knee surgery. Despite the knee injuries, Joe continues to be very active, playing men’s league ice hockey and softball every week. He also enjoys playing golf, although admits that he is not very good. Joe enjoys watching most sports as well, with his loyalties going to the NY Rangers, NY Yankees, NY Giants, NY Knicks, and the Notre Dame Football team. Joe loves to travel the country, but would like to begin to expand his travels to Europe in the near future.
Kramer earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy with honors from Ithaca College, where he attended their accelerated six year program, minoring in Sport and Exercise Psychology. While at Ithaca, he was a two sport athlete as a high jumper on the track and field team, and a sprinter on the swim team, where he earned all-state and all-conference accolades. Kramer developed his interest in the Physical Therapy field as a result of extensive experience as a patient in PT clinics, due to the injuries he sustained while participating in various land and water sports. After being accepted into the renowned Ithaca College Physical Therapy program out of high school, he knew he found the perfect career to fit to his active lifestyle! As a clinician, Kramer has a passion for treating sport/exercise-related injuries, post-operative diagnoses, and injury prevention – particularly concerning the ACL. His clinical experience ranges from working with college and professional athletes, to pediatric and geriatric populations in the outpatient orthopedic settings. By combining manual therapy skills, injury prevention, and current evidence-based research, Kramer’s patients can expect to receive the care that will allow them to best achieve their functional goals. While in college, Kramer developed a passion for playing golf that has carried over to his career, as he has pursued and earned a certification from the Titleist Performance Institute as a Level 2 Medical Professional - where he utilizes the Body-Swing ConnectionTM to get his golfers back on the course. He also became certified in the Functional Movement Screen and Selective Functional Movement Assessment, as he believes in treating patients utilizing a “total body approach” to help them return to their healthy, fast-paced lifestyle. As an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning specialist, he uses his background in strength and conditioning to help his patients achieve their maximum potential. In his free time, Kramer enjoys playing painfully mediocre golf, participating in weekend flag football where he regularly injures himself, self-rehabbing those injuries during the week, hiking, going to concerts, playing guitar, exercising, and traveling with his wife.
